Orba Warblers Report
On Wednesday There were 36 players at Oliva Nova for the John Barrell Texas Scramble of which one was a guest Steve Longbottom. Unfortunately John Barrell could not be with us due to ill health but his Daughter Judith came over to sponsor the event with some really nice prizes which was very much appreciated by the Members. The pace of play was excellent on a well presented course with just the greens still recovering from it's maintenance.
Winning the day and the coveted Trophy with a simply Awesome net score of 54.8 which included 7 birdies 1 eagle and no dropped shots was the Team of Shaun O'Gorman, Sheila Dindar, John Daniels and Sylvia Mortensen, we think this is an Orba Warbler record scramble score but we will have to check our archives first, well done to you four " i couldn't be more pleased for you " .
In second place with another impressive score a net 59.8 was Steve Smith, David Brown, Tony Dickinson and Big Ron Steele ( back after a long absence ). Third place went to Richard Vass, Steve Davis,Jan Wilson and Keith Tickner with a net 61.8. The fourth spot went to Chris Williamson, Robin Wheatly, Jorgen Mortensen and Arthur Rowley.
