This week the Orba warblers travelled to Bonalba for the Kincavel Quaich a popular stableford competition sponsored by Bob and Rosemary Edwards. A full house of 36 players played with one guest Brian Russell who again was made to feel very welcome.
The format this week was one division 1st - 6th place. In first place and continuing his good form was Glynn Braidley (Hcap 9.6) with a great par breaking score of 37pts, second and winning on countback was Derek Gray (Hcap 21.6) with 35pts from Fred Cooley (Hcap 12.5) 3rd and David Edwards (Hcap 26.7) 4th also with 35pts. In 5th place and winning on countback was Sheila Dindar (Hcap 25.6) with 34pts just pipping Steve Smith (Hcap 4.6) also with 34pts in 6th place.
The lowest Gross prize today was won Steve Smith with a Gross 80
There were four nearest the pins on holes 4, 8, 11 and 14 and won by Michael Taylor, Steve Head, Steve Head again and Derek Gray respectively. The two longest drives were won by Sally Marsden ( Ladies ) and Glynn Braidley ( Mens ). Three two's were achieved two by Steve Head on holes 8 and 11 and one by Dave Knight on hole 4.
One doubles match saw Fred Cooley and Sheila Dindar beat Steve Smith and Roy Booth 5 & 3. Also one singles match saw David French beat Peter Gibson 7 & 6. The football card today was Leicester and won by Paddy Kenmore. Well done to all our winners.
Next Wednesday 2nd November the Warblers travel to El Bosque for our Autumn Trophy a stableford competition sponsored by Steve Cliffe. With a first tee start of 10-00am please arrive by 9-15am for registration.
