Twenty four players made the journey including one new guest who received an Orba Warbler golf ball Malcolm Monti and Neil Smith who again joined us this week. They were both made welcome by all there. We found the course in good condition on again a very hot sunny day.
There were first and second prizes for the teams and in first place by the smallest of margins 0.1 were the team of Steve Smith, Paddy Kenmore, Derek Gray and Peter Gibson with a net 58.4 off 7.6. A very very close second were the team of Dave Knight, David French, Sylvia Mortensen and the Lady of the day Sheila Dindar with a net 58.5 off 7.5.
The four nearest the pins were on holes 3, 5, 13, and 16 and was won by Neil Smith, Chris Hoare, David French and the "lovely" Margaret Hoare respectively. David French was the unluckiest or luckiest golfer whichever way you look at it, his ball on the 13th came up three inches short from a Hole in One.
